President Eroğlu: “Proposals of Anastasiades are not acceptable”

President Derviş Eroğlu stated that new proposals are continuing to be submitted regarding rotating presidency and convergences but the proposals of the Greek Cypriot side are not acceptable because they mean that the President will always be a Greek Cypriot and Vice President will be a Turkish Cypriot preferred by Greek Cypriots.

In his speech made during a workshop, Eroğlu also said that Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasides does not accept former convergences reached with the former Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias during four years of negotiation process.

Leaders will meet on Monday

President Derviş Eroğlu and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades will meet again on Monday 23rd June within the framework of Cyprus negotiations.

The Leaders, who decided to meet twice a month, held their previous meeting on 2nd June. During their last meeting, the Leaders discussed the issues of Administration and Power Sharing, Technical Committees as well as Confidence Building Measures and Convergences.
