Rest in Peace – Mary Emmerson

We have been made aware of the death of 77 year old Mary Emmerson on Monday 24th February at a hospital in York in the UK. Although we didn’t know Mary personally, there are many who became good friends during her frequent visits to her leased home in Bellapais, North Cyprus and she will be sadly missed by them.

Mary was a psychiatric nurse in the UK before retiring, she was very active, she was a keen swimmer and loved travelling, making many friends in other countries who often visited her in North Cyprus.

She is to be cremated at Wakefield, in Yorkshire, at 10am (UK time) on Thursday 6th March, and her ashes will be scattered in Cumbria.

Here in North Cyprus, her friends will be gathering to remember her at the Courtyard Inn, Karakum on Thursday 6th March at 12 noon (Cyprus time) to coincide with the Cremation in the UK, and anyone who knew her and would like to attend will be very welcome.

This is a lovely way to remember and feel part of the funeral ceremony of someone who has sadly departed.
