Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman / Economy and Energy Minister Özdil Nami / Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

 

Prime Minister Erhürman: “We are not currently at a junction, but it is certain that the method used in the talks cannot be the same as before”

President Mustafa Akıncı and Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman held their weekly routine meeting yesterday. In a statement to the press following the meeting, Erhürman stated that President Akıncı had spoken about his informal meeting with Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades, and stated that they exchanged views and evaluated the Cyprus issue ahead of the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu’s visit to the TRNC today.

Erhürman, who also replied to the questions of the press, pointed out that the leaders agree that the method in any future talks will not be the same as before. Erhürman emphasised that the TRNC President and government, as well as Turkey, have clearly stated their views on this issue.

Economy and Energy Minister Nami visits Ankara

Economy and Energy Minister Özdil Nami travelled to Ankara yesterday in order to have official contacts. Nami was received by Turkish Deputy Prime Minister in Charge of Cyprus Affairs Recep Akdağ this morning. Nami will also meet with Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi, Turkish Minister of Science, Industry, and Technology Faruk Özlü and Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade Bülent Tüfekçi.

Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu in the TRNC for contacts

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu arrived in the TRNC for official contacts today.

Çavuşoğlu will hold a working meeting with President Mustafa Akıncı. Çavuşoğlu will also meet with the leaders of the 6 political parties represented in the TRNC Assembly. Çavuşoğlu will be departing from the TRNC tomorrow.
