The Near East University (NEU) women’s basketball team managed to win yet another tough match against Mersin BŞB, in the 21st week of the ongoing Turkish Basketball League. The Near East University won the match 58-56.
The match was played at the Mersin Edip Buran Sports Centre, and was witnessed by a large number of basketball enthusiasts. On overall basis it was a tough match for both the teams, as the scoreboard witnessed a tug of war, where each team bypassed the other frequently.
The first period ended with a score of 19 – 12 in favour of the Mersin BŞB. The NEU team struggled to cope with the strong competitor, but could not end the supremacy of the Mersin team, who ended the period with a supremacy of 11 points. The final score at the end of the second period was 35 – 24.
The third period witnessed a far better performance by NEU, as they finished the period with the score of 44 – 44.
The fourth and final period ended with a score of 56 – 58 in favour of Near East University
