Celebrating the 34th Year of independence and the founding of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus 100 olive trees were planted.
Mağusa Kale Lions Club and our two international twinning clubs Dalyan Marina and Üsküdar Lions Club planted 100 olive trees in a designated area donated by Gazimağusa Municipality and named in memory of the late Ln. Erol Gürler founder of North Cyprus Lions Clubs Federations.
Olive trees were chosen as the tree represents Peace and the olives that will grow in the future will be collected and sold as olives or olive oil. The funds from the olive sales will be used by the clubs for future donations.
