Russian strategist and political scientist Aleksandr Dugin stated that the existence of the TRNC in the Eastern Mediterranean becomes strong with the support of Turkey, adding that the EU’s sanctions trying to be imposed in the Eastern Mediterranean on Turkey and initiatives towards isolation will not prevent the legal rights of Turkey.
In his speech at the conference organised by Bahçeşehir Cyprus University Research Centre of the Law of Sea and Maritime entitled “Changing World Order: Blue Wars in the Eastern Mediterranean”, Dugin said that the world departed from single pole inclinations and turned into a multiple pole conflict centre.
Furthermore, Dugin expressed “In the new term, China and Russia play a more dogmatic role. Turkey’s role in this transformation is very important for global world order and the Eastern Mediterranean. I believe that the existence of the TRNC in the Eastern Mediterranean becomes stronger with support of Turkey. The independence struggle of the TRNC is the dignity of the Eastern Mediterranean”.
