Özlem Ekinci’s personal painting exhibition “İz“ opened with a ceremony held at Girne Municipality Art Gallery. The opening ceremony was attended by Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü, Municipal Councillor Ziya Egemen Sencer and art lovers.
In his opening speech, Şenol Özdevrim, the curator of the exhibition, stated that art is not only composed of works hanging on the wall, it has deep meanings. Şenol Özdevrim, noted that former student Özlem Ekinci, as well as having received an education other than in art, the art itself has improved and he was happy to take part in the personal exhibition.
Özlem Ekinci stated that she was very excited to open her first solo exhibition and thanked Şenol Özdevrim, who had helped her, and the Mayor of Girne Nidai Güngördü, and the employees of the Municipality.
Mayor Güngördü drew attention to the importance of Özlem Ekinci, who came from Mardin to study in Cyprus and started to work after graduating from school, acting with a sense of belonging and making efforts to contribute something for the country. Güngördü congratulated Ekinci for her courage and first exhibition.
The exhibition at Girne Municipality Art Gallery can be visited between 2nd and 14th October at 10:00-17:00 on weekdays and 10:00-15:00 on Saturdays.
