Minister of Tourism and Environment, Ünal Üstel, received the Turkish Cypriot driver İbrahim Yücebaş, who won second place in the Red Bull Car Park Drift World Final held in Istanbul.

Yücebaş, who was ranked among the athletes of 19 countries in the world finals, said he was proud to represent our country.  Yücebaş and Ali Kacakbaflı, a student, participating in the competition told the Minister about the experience.  Yücebaş stated that he missed the first place in the Red Bull Car Park Drift World Final in Istanbul and that he would be better prepared for future events.

With the events in Kayseri and Izmir, Yücebaş said that his target is to be the champion of Turkey, indicating that Turkey is now a leader in the league.

Yücebaş thanked Minister Üstel and the Ministry of Tourism and the Environment for the care and support during participation in the competition.

Minister Üstel said that giving the opportunity to young people we can see what they can do.  He expressed satisfaction with the participation of young people in international competitions and said that the support would continue.

Explaining that Turkish Cypriot athletes have demonstrated their quality in such events, the Minister said “We have once again seen what they can do if the youth of the country are given the opportunity”.

Explaining that, as a Ministry, every effort is being made to promote and market the country, Üstel said that the representation of our country’s athletes in international competitions also contributed to the promotion of the country.
