President Mustafa Akıncı met with the UN Special Envoy to Cyprus Jane Holl Lute yesterday (1st September).
In his written statement following the meeting of President Mustafa Akıncı and Lute, the Presidential Spokesman Barış Burcu stated that they had a long and fruitful meeting yesterday and he also added that at the meeting Akıncı expressed in detail the stance of the Turkish Cypriot side which is very clear on the issues they have been focusing on for a long time.
Burcu said that Lute tries to complete the work on the terms of reference that the UN Secretary-General expects and he added that in this context Lute conveyed her wish to meet again with President Akıncı today. Burcu also said that the meeting will take place this afternoon.
I very much like to have an endgame that shall have a good alternative for the TRNC if they do not come to an agreement at the end of the next conference.
