On Thursday, 8th August people were invited to the meeting of Girne Municipality Counselling and Support Centre which took place at Sevim Ebeoğlu Peace Park.
Girne Municipality Counselling and Support Centre, hosted by the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (NTM), Labour and Social Security, Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Police and the SOS Children’s Village was founded by the Association for Combating Domestic Violence Coordinating Committee.
Nidai Güngördü, Mayor of Girne, stated that the Municipality, which attaches importance to gender equality and that women and children are strong, free and happy individuals, opened the Consultancy and Support Centre on 9th March 2018, where 67 people have received consultancy service and people continue to receive consultancy services.
Gungordu stated that women are exposed to violence and need protection, by raising awareness about the work of the Consultancy and Support Centre, and the programs prepared for this purpose.
