Minister of National Defence of Turkey Hulusi Akar, is arriving in the TRNC today (8th August). Akar and his accompanying delegation, will be attending the anniversary of Erenkoy Resistance events, and will also meet the government and state officials.
Akar and his accompanying delegation will also attend the opening ceremony of the refurbished Martyr Cengiz Topel Monument. Akar and his delegation will be welcomed by President of the TRNC Mustafa Akinci, Speaker of the TRNC Assembly Teberruken Ulucay, Prime Minister Ersin Tatar and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Ozersay.
The Southern Islanders remember the Eoka a and b, the ones that cost them all to dearly as their very expensive hero’s, while we remember-the the real hero’s who resisted against overwhelming odds with very few weapons to supplement their commitment to defend their belief.
