From Carol Blackwell-Gibbs ….
May has been a very busy month for weddings! I recently organised the wedding of Charlotte Dervish and Daniel Nunn who are from South Ockendon, Essex in the UK.
The Best Man was Terry Ward and Usher – Jon Dervish. Bridesmaids were Connie Nunn, Poppy Winfield and Lizabel Sulun. Charlotte and Daniel were so happy with their day that they sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a thank you for making their day so special.
The marriage was celebrated at the Kybele, Bellapais. Keith Lloyd was the officiate and he also conducted a Tying of the Knot Ceremony.
Guests were from the UK and from Northern Cyprus as Charlotte’s family originate from the TRNC.
Following a delicious meal, guests were entertained by a belly dancer and a DJ as they danced the night away under the stars!

Here are some comments from Charlotte and Daniel.
Charlotte – My paternal family originate from Northern Cyprus, many of whom still live there, so we try to come over every year, more often if we’re lucky! Daniel and I have been together for six years, and he quickly fell in love with the island when I introduced him to our little piece of paradise!
We came to see Bellapais initially in 2018, after being engaged for two years, however, as life gets in the way, not really having made any plans for the big day. The setting was just breathtaking, and the views were unbelievable and we just knew that this was the place where we would be married. We returned again a few days later and we were sure, this was it!
The wedding was better than we expected, more than exceeding our wildest dreams. The décor, the weather, the food, the staff at the Kybele, the ceremony… it was just perfect!
The whole day was perfect, but if we had to choose something as the best part, we would have to choose how seamlessly the day went, all thanks to Carol, and how welcome everyone was made to feel by staff at the Kybele.
The worst part of the day was the end! The day just flew by and the end came much too quickly!
We will definitely be visiting Bellapais again, we have even discussed returning for our first anniversary next year.
We would just like to thank Carol, Keith, Haluk and the staff at the Kybele, and everyone else involved in giving us the best day of our lives, it was more than we could have ever asked for, the setting and flowers were beautiful, the food was amazing, the photographers were excellent, our stunning belly dancer Jasmine was wonderful and really got the party started, and all went above and beyond to make our day so exceptional.
