The European University of Lefke commemorated the 25th anniversary of Rwandan Genocide, by organising a series of displays about the Genocide, and to introduce Rwanda. The event was attended by the teachers and students of the University. Some students, interested in the event, from other universities in the TRNC also attended the event.
The Genocide of Tutsis, carried out between 7th April and 15th July 1994, has been considered as one of the most regrettable events in recent history, where more than 500,000 humans perished.
Organised at the conference hall of the university, by the Social and Cultural Activities Club of the university, the national anthems of Turkey and Rwanda were played after a moment of silence in honour of the innocent people killed in these genocides.
