An exhibition of 30 artworks of 7 Kazakhstan artists was recently opened at Near East University. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Fikri Ataoğlu, the Minister of Tourism and Environment.

The exhibition held at the Near East University will remain open to visitors until 30th May 2019. The visiting hours are  8am to 4pm on weekdays.

Making the opening speech of the exhibition, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, stated that an indestructible bridge of art is being formed between Asia and the Mediterranean. Furthermore Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ provided details regarding the 30 art pieces of the 7 Kazakhstan artists and stated that within the last 7 months, 40 exhibitions have been held, and that currently there were 9 exhibitions available to visit at the Near East University campus.

Speaking on behalf of the Kazakh artists, Yelena Tyo placed emphasis on the significance of cooperation between countries in respect of art and cultural activities and events.  Moreover, it was stated that in their paintings, they tried to reflect the colours of their country, the characteristics of human image and the characteristics of national customs and traditions. Additionally, it was stated that they wished to thank everyone for the warm welcome of the hospitable people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and thanks were given for  the opportunity to see the beauty and the sights of the island. Also, it was pointed out that during their stay on the island, they spent the time here in the atmosphere of friendship, creativity and comfort.
