Karadeniz Rout Tatlisu in Local Derby

A second half onslaught from Karadeniz overcame a disappointing Tatlısu side, in the end the team from Kaplıca ran out easy winners.

Saturday May 4 : Rauf Raif Denktaş Stadı : BTM League 2, Group 5.

Being a “local derby” and a warmish Saturday morning a fair size crowd watched this entertaining match between two local rivals.

The opening exchanges were pulsating with both teams hitting the woodwork. In the first minute of the match Karadeniz forward Mehmet Turgut burst through only to see his shot cannon off the angle of the upright and the bar. Tatlısu then hit the Karadeniz bar in the 7th minute following a cross shot from the right by Hakan.

HAKAN did give Tatlısu a lead in the 9th minute when again overlapping down the right his cross shot could only be helped into the net by goalkeeper Mehmet.

Karadeniz began piling on the pressure forcing 5 corners on the trot as Tatlısu were forced back into their own half. Karadeniz pressure eventually paid off following another corner.  Ogün crossed to the far post where an unmarked İBRAHİM GÖKOYA swooped low to head in. 1-1

Tatlısu should have regained the lead in the 34th minute when Ramazan put through Göksel, with a one on one with the goalkeeper, but he shot weakly at Mehmet.

Tatlısu did take the lead in the 37th minute when Göksel set up MUSA, who appeared to have wasted his opportunity to get in a shot, eventually he did so and his shot took a wicked deflection off a defender and into the net. 2-1

Tatlısu just about shaded the first half, with their defence very strong and keeping tags on the Karadeniz attack. HALF TIME SCORE: 2-1

Karadeniz Coach was giving his team an almighty “ear bashing” as I passed their changing room and this seemed to have an immediate effect when they scored in the opening minute of the second half. MEHMET TURGUT scoring with a low drive beating the diving Sinan. 2-3

Another simple goal in the 53rd minute enabled Karadeniz to take the lead, with Tatlısu defence all at sea.  MEHMET TURGUT was left unmarked to score his second goal.

Tatlısu defence was in tatters again in the 70th minute when another simple through ball saw TÜRKER ADULLAHOĞLU score with ease. 2-4

Tatlısu defence so strong in the first half just disintegrated every time Karadeniz attacked.

The rout was complete in the 84th minute through their Captain and best player OGÜN DURSUN, curled in a delightful free kick over the Tatlısu defensive wall and over keeper Sinan. FULL TIME SCORE: 2-5

As I said earlier it was a disappointing Tatlısu performance.  After winning their opening match of the season they have lost their last 2 matches. Ramazan and Göksel attacking partnership saw little reward upfront and their defence was completely overrun in the second half. MUSA in midfield for Tatlısu was their best player trying hard to prompt his team.

Man of the Match: OGÜN DURSUN (KARADENIZ 61) skilful midfielder ran the show in the second half, best player on show.
