“Social Media and Brand week 2019” organised by EMU

The “Social Media and Brand week 2019” organised by the Eastern Mediterranean University, came to an end on 4th April 2019, at the Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall of the University.

In the two day event, various representatives of local businesses were invited to share their experiences with the students. Touching upon the digitalization of communication and the effects of social media today, EMU Communication Faculty Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agah Gümüş indicated that their faculty values social media in both their curriculum and activities. Stating that those participating in this event will obtain very valuable information, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gümüş also thanked all involved in the organization of the event as well as the sponsors.

The week is the third of its series, which helps the students of the communication departments, and others, to understand the role that Social Media now plays in introducing, marketing and other activities of the commercial world.

On the first day Reputation365.EU (Belgium) Digital Identity Management Consultant Denys Malengreau, Nexflix series ‘Protector’ Director Umut Aral, Akustikhane founder Namık Zafer Yılmaz, Innova Digital Founder Ali Tüzünkan, Beaz Kreatif Founder Umay Yılmaz, Slogan Institutional Founder Bertan Görüş and Cypdes Factory Founder Selma Gürani shared their experiences with students.

The experts who delivered presentations on day two of the event included Creditwest Bank CEO Mazher Zaheer, SP Branding and Management Founder Selin Persentili, Maxfield & Parrish, INC. Founder Eren Yağmuroğlu, Political Campaign Managers Atıf Müezzinler and Ömer Yetkinel and Renault Mais Turkey CEO Dr. Berk Çağdaş.

Following the presentations, EMU Faculty of Communication Academic Staff Member / Institutional Communication and Social Media Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Raziye Nevzat delivered plaques of appreciation to the speakers.
