Erhürman to hold series of contacts in London

Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman, who is in London, started his contacts by attending the event organized by the TRNC London Representative Office, the screening of a documentary about the life of the first Turkish Cypriot journalist Bedia Okan Göreli entitled ‘Söz’ün Son Kadını: Bedia Hanım Belgeseli’.

As part of his contacts in London Erhürman will meet with Turkish Cypriot Business people living in London and then meet with the public today (7th March). Tomorrow Erhürman will attend the event organized by Association of Turkish Women in Britain for International Women’s Day and will meet with the Heads of the Turkish Cypriot Associations.

The Prime Minister will also meet with the Federation of Turkish Cypriot Students in the UK and London Solidarity Association and will watch the football match organized by the Turkish Community Football Federation for youngsters.

Lastly Erhürman will attend the ‘Turkish Cypriot Awards Ceremony’ organized by the ‘Turkish Cypriot Trust UK’.

Atakan attended opening of 1st International Intelligent Transportation Systems Summit

Minister of Public Works and Transportation Tolga Atakan attended the opening of the 1st International Intelligent Transportation Systems Summit and had separate and also inter-delegation meetings with the Turkish Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Cahit Turan.

In his speech during the opening of the summit, Atakan said that international transportation systems will be integrated into the country easily and gave information about the projects to be conducted until the end of the year.

Saner attended PACE Culture Committee Meeting

National Unity Party Gazi Mağusa Deputy H. Ersan Saner attended the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Culture Committee meeting held between 3-5 March in Granada, Spain.

The Committee discussed 4 law drafts on human rights and internet administration, effects of the social media on human rights and social problems, media education in information age and security of journalists and freedom of the press.

The Committee approved the law draft regarding the effects of the social media on human rights and social problems and decided to discuss the law draft at the General Council Meeting to be held in April in Strasbourg.
