By Richard Beale …..
A New Year is on us and already the first month of the year is almost over. During the ‘short Winters break” the region’s Football Clubs have been working hard in preparation for the second half of the season. Like many Clubs there has been a lot of transfer activity, Esentepe KKSK have been no different.
NEW TECHNICAL DIRECTOR APPOINTED.
HASAN ÇAĞER age 51 has been appointed the third Coach to be in charge this season. Esentepe started the season off with Davut Kansu, who resigned after 6 matches. Nacatı Tilki his replacement also lasted 6 matches before he too threw in the towel.
Hasan is an experienced Coach having previously been in charge of Lapta, Tatlısu HOSK and Merit Alsancak.
He brings with him YASIN KANSU as his Assistant. We welcome them both to Esentepe and hope Hasan is a “miracle worker” with a magic wand who can secure the teams place in the Super League.

NEW SIGNINGS :
L-R – Efosa, Anthony Junior and Ahmet Cager.
EFOSA FRANCIS is an 18 year old Nigerian left winger who is an exciting prospect already he has impressed in the “warm up’ games finding the net on three occasions.
ANTHONY KEVIN MFEDE JUNIOR.
A 24 year old Cameroon who has won 3 International Caps for his country. A right winger /midfield player is the son of Louis Paul Mfede who won 66 Caps and was part of Cameroon successful 1990/1994 World Cup teams.
AHMET ÇAĞER. A left back signed from Doğan Türk Birliği.
We welcome all these new players to Esentepe.
AND IT’S GOODBYE TO :
Henry Odi and Zady Moise
HENRY ODI and ZADY MOISE two African players who have not been re-engaged for the second half of the season. Striker Odi only found the net once in 15 matches but worked his socks off for the team. Defender Moise started at central back and enjoyed some success when played in a defensive midfield role.
MAHMUT AMASAYLI and MEHMET ÇIL both were signed on a short term contract but were never really given extended roles in the team. Mahmut has joined Doğanci and Mehmet has gone to Maraş.
AHMET KARAL. Sad to see the winger who has been on loan from Duzkaya for the past two seasons leave the Club. Was a member of last seasons successful promotion team weighing in with 7 goals. This season has struggled to make an impact in the Super League. Has joined bottom of the table League 1 side Değirmenlik.
L-R – Mahmut Amasaylı, Mehmet Çil and Ahmet Karal.
We thank all these players for their efforts this season and wish them well with their new clubs.
AND A WELCOME BACK
VURKAN GÖRNEÇLİ great to see him in an Esentepe shirt again after an absence of 3 years. Vurkan has suffered serious injuries to both of his knees. After major surgery the 26 year old midfielder who has made nearly 100 appearances for the Club is raring to go. Maybe he will not start a match for a while but with his experience he will be a more than useful “impact” player.
DURING THE BREAK.
The new Coach has made an initial impression in the “friendly matches” it is noticeable that the team are spraying the ball around more, with players running into space. Though the results are not important in these “warm up matches”, Esentepe have had a good mid season break winning 3 and losing 1 of these matches. The team have found how to score goals again and to see the ball in an opponent’s net has given the team confidence again.
FUTURE FIXTURE:
Sunday January 27 : Kibris Cup : Home: kick off 1-00pm at Esentepe Erdal Barut Stadium.
ESENTEPE KKSK v KARŞIYAKA ASK.
