Tatlısu School fundraising night – a great success

By Richard Beale …..

Last Saturday night (12th January} Tatlısu School Parent and Teachers Association held a fundraising night at the Tatlısu Zambak Koyu Restaurant.

It turned out to be a great success with a great majority of the Tatlısu villagers in attendance along with a sprinkling of expats.

The food presented by the restaurant which is run by Tatlısu Belediyesi was excellent, full kebab with endless mezes the food kept coming and coming.

A DJ provided Turkish music and you know what the locals are like they were up dancing straight away they certainly know how to enjoy themselves!.

It was also an opportunity for the Esentepe Sewing Group run by Irene Hannan to hand over a cheque for 9,400 TL to the School’s Headmaster, Mehmet Erden which were the proceeds raised at a Christmas Bazaar in December held at Seawise Restaurant.

This cheque along with the ticket sales and money from an extensive raffle will go a long way to help raise money for alterations and equipment for the school.

It was a great atmosphere on the night with the locals and it was a privilege to be involved with the community for this worthwhile cause.
