The Girls team of Lefkoşa Türk Lisesi won the Handball tournament by defeating the Anafartalar Lisesi. The final was a hard fought match, which ended with the score of 25-23.
In the boys section the team of Anafartalar Lisesi maintained their supremacy over the young team of the College team. The match ended with the score of 36 – 25 in favour of the Anafartalar Lisesi.
The tournament was organised at the CIU Sports Arena of Cyprus International University, by the TRNC Ministry of National Education and Culture, National Days, School Sports and Arm Activities Coordination Branch.
Tolga Kınacı, the organizer of the tournament, stated that the CIU Sports Complex is a favourable facility for handball and therefore they prefer to have the semi-final and final matches hosted by the CIU Arena.
CIU Arena Sports Coordinator Tarkan Kayas stated that this kind of organization will continue to be hosted and young athletes are struggling in a fascinating atmosphere in the field.
TRNC National Education and Culture Minister Cemal Özyiğit congratulated the champions at the end of the tournament and presented their medals and trophies.
