The students of Near East University brought special happiness to the children with special needs by attending the New Year’s Ball at the Famagusta Special Education Center.

The Vocational School Department of Hair Care and Beauty Services and the Social Research and Development Center affiliated with the Center of Excellence of Near East University played an important part in organising the event.

According the press release issued by the Public Relations Department of the Near East University, the Head of the Department of Hair Care and Beauty Services Dr. Yeşim Üstün Aksoy, Head of the Center for Social Research and Development Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay and Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay participated together in the event held at the Special Education Center for children with special needs and put on make-up and did cosmetic applications such as face painting, hair knitting.

Dr. Yeşim Aksoy stating that it is a duty to involve disabled individuals in every process and area of life, to support them, to perform the services they need in a fast and effective way and to facilitate their lives, emphasized that they are happy to participate in such a social responsibility project.

Expressing that they had emotional moments, Aksoy also expressed their satisfaction for taking part in this event.

Head of the Social Research and Development Center affiliated with the Center for Excellence, Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay and Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay, expressed that in the new year they wish the new projects and social responsibility awareness of the community  to increase gradually, and their Centre will continue to contribute to the scientific activities as much as contributing to the social sharing and happiness of society.
