The Cinema Television Department of Communication Faculty of the Eastern Mediterranean University recently organised an honour-high honour certificate ceremony for students who demonstrated outstanding performance during the 2017-2018 Academic Year.
Director Aysu Basri Akter, the Director of the Bayrak Radio Television Corporation participated in the ceremony and shared her sectoral accumulation and experiences with the participants.
Chair of Cinema-Television Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahire Özad delivered the opening address of the ceremony which was attended by students, lecturers and instructors. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özad congratulated the successful students and expressed her department’s pleasure in hosting EMU Communication Faculty, Radio-Television Department former graduate Aysu Basri Akter. Delivering a talk at the event, Aysu Basri Akter expressed her happiness in participating in this meaningful organisation and stated that despite the fact that she is the institutional director of BRT, she worked in the private sector for a long period of time and that the sector has important shortcomings.
Highlighting the importance of the collaboration between academy and sector, Akter added that the problems in the field of media are due to various problems occuring in practice. Akter also stated that the effort to overcome the shortcomings in terms of practical applications in this field is not shown. Akter added that in terms of training, they are at point zero.
