Dr. Suat Günsel receives “Turkey’s Greatest Living Minds Award”

The Forbes Magazine recently included  Dr. Suat Günsel, the Founding Rector of the Near East University among the people who received the  “Turkey’s Greatest Living Minds Award”.

According to the press release of the Near East University, the Forbes Magazine included him among the list of people who received the “Turkey’s Greatest Living Minds Award” given by Forbes Magazine to celebrate its 100th year anniversary to people who shaped the history of Turkey’s economy, left their traces and broke new grounds.

According to information given by the Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, at the ceremony held at Istanbul Swissotel The Bosphorus to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Forbes Magazine and where the awards were delivered to the winners, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. GÜNSEL, President of the Board of Trustees of NEU, received the award on behalf of the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel who transformed all the scientific data he obtained into the benefits of the community as well as transforming the university into a 4th generation university.

The ceremony was attended by important names in the business and social world, 24 people received “Turkey’s Greatest Living Minds Award”.

Burçak Güven, Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Magazine, delivered a speech during the evening and thanked those who shaped the history of Turkish economy, left a trace with their work and broke new grounds.

Burçak Güven, “I hereby once more thank Turkey’s greatest greatest living minds, the important names of Turkey who have created great transformations, broken new ground, and will lead to the future, and without their achievements there for sure would be large gaps.

Along with Dr. Suat Günsel  Ahmet Çalık, Asım Kibar, Abdullah Kiğılı, Ali Nihat Gökyiğit, Bülent Eczacıbaşı, Cem Boyner, Fuat Tosyalı, Prof. Dr. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil, Hamdi Akın, Hakkı Yıldız, Hüsnü Özyeğin, Mehmet Kutman, Murat Ülker, Mehmet Ziylan, Nihat Özdemir, Nevzat Aydın, Oya Eczacıbaşı, Ömer Koç, Tuncay Özilhan, Suzan Sabancı, Ümran Beba, Yahya Kiğılı and Zeynep Bodur Okyay also received the award.
