By Margaret Sheard …

Bar 33 (The Old Mill) in Ozankoy hosted a Christmas coffee morning in aid of Hope 4 Pets on Tuesday 11th December.

There were 5 stalls selling handmade jewellery, crafts, handmade cards, clothing, shoes and bric a brac and Dave was there with his lovely signs.  An Ozankoy couple had donated some gold and silver jewellery, which had been valued by a local jeweller, and some of this was also sold which will be lovely Christmas presents for some ladies this year.

There were plenty of delicious cakes on offer and Chris bought a few which we sampled later in the day at home with a cup of coffee. Very nice.

The attendance at the coffee morning was a little lower than expected, but at the end of the day a total of 3,205TL was raised for Hope 4 Pets, which will go a long way to helping with the costs of the treatment some of the cats and dogs are undergoing at the moment.

Now in the throes of what has turned out to be a bad winter so far, there are so many street animals which need help through poor health and injuries and in addition to veterinary treatment it would be so nice to be able to give them a forever home with warmth and security.   Hope 4 Pets desperately need funding to cover treatment for these poor unwanted cats and dogs so a donation, however much you can afford, would be greatly appreciated to enable them to continue caring for the street animals of North Cyprus.    Donations can be made through the normal channels or by delivering personally to Petcross in Dogankoy or at the Lemar Catalkoy Wednesday market.
