The “Friends Across Borders” Concert Series with Musicians from both sides of Cyprus continues in THE SOULIST Coffee & Music House Alsancak/Karavas with Blind Man’s Tale.
On Saturday 17th November the spectacular Cyprus Rock band “BMT“ (Blind Man’s Tale) rocked the Soulist stage… Great that once again Blind Man’s Tale was able to commit to a gig in the Soulist.
Unfortunately they could not attend the first “Friends Across Borders Alsancak Concert” on the 28th of September and had to cancel their participation at short notice …. but this Friends Across Borders project was important for them and they wanted to catch up with their performance as soon as possible.
The peaceful co-existence of Greek and Turkish Cypriots is very close to their hearts and in this case they won the “Stelios BI-Communal Cyprus Awards” this year.
This award is for the idea to encourage Bi–Communal Cooperation between Greek and Turkish Cypriots in order to promote lasting peace on the island.. The right band for the Friends Across Borders Project.
BMT is not a cover band. It is a really good rock band with great musicians, who introduced a set of 7 new songs in the Soulist, and also a selection of rock covers which spanned from Led Zeppelin to Audioslave. But for the band the important music is the originals, their own songs.
All the band members were fantastic with a performance that is unparalleled. A charismatic Charis J. Anderson – vocals/guitar, a brilliant Tolga Ismail on guitar, Hakan Sonya on bass and the exceptional Mert Guclu – drums (ex-Unreal) filling the rhythm section in an extraordinary way, launched their Rock Rocket on time – at 22:00.
Saturday was the evening of BMT (Blind Man`s Tale) … Rock in pure culture was announced. Once again a full house and a good mood.
The Rockfire was lit with Creed’s My Sacrifice … Wow that was a start … they had a packed audience …. Then there were the 7 first new songs from their album, which will be released next year. Tide, Waves, Borrowed, Living it up, Change, Hell & Fire and Ignite had the audience rocking, very successful songs and with their great performance embedded in the span of rock music. BMT closed the show after over 2 hours (without a break) with Enter Sandman, Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song and We Will Rock You.
It was a pleasure to experience BMT live in The Soulist. They had the courage to present their own music and the people enjoyed it very much.
The next Gig is in Downtown – Nicosia on the 9th of December (21:00)
BMT is a band which can also present itself in Europe.
