The 8th Girne Culture and Arts Days organised by the Girne Municipality ended with a concert of Turkish Folk Music performed by Selda Bağcan at the Girne Amphitheatre.
Selda Bağcan sang songs of the Anatolian Rock and Protest Music genre. Following the presentation of a Turkish flag by a person who came on stage, Selda Bağcan performed the İzmir Anthem with the participation of approximately 4,000 people.
Girne Mayor, Nidai Güngördü, in his speech at the concert, said that they were happy to welcome Selda Bağcan, an important singer of the Turkic World. Nidai Güngördı stated that Edip Akbayram and Fatih Erkoç had appeared on stage during the Girne Culture and Art Days with the slogan Peace through Art. Güngördü also wished to open the door of friendship, brotherhood and peace to Selda Bağcan. At the end of his speech, Güngördü presented his thanks to the artist on behalf of the municipal councillors and Girne citizens.
Selda Bağcan was on stage for about 2 hours, and sang her songs without any break, and in her speech she expressed her gratitude for the energy of the audience and gave her thanks to the Girne Municipality who had invited her.
