Akıncı to receive Spehar and inform party representatives today
President Mustafa Akıncı will receive UN Secretary General’s Special 
Representative to Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar today (9th October). Akıncı and Spehar are expected to discuss the latest preparations regarding the opening of Derinya and Aplıç Gates.
Furthermore, President Akıncı will inform the representatives of the coalition government at 14:00 pm. about his meeting with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and his other contacts in New York. Akıncı will also inform the opposition parties represented in the TRNC Assembly tomorrow (10th October) at 10:00 am.
Uluçay met with Yıldırım
TRNC Speaker of the Assembly Teberrüken Uluçay started his contacts while attending the 3rd Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments held in the province of Antalya, Turkey, in which Presidents of Parliaments and Senates from 41 countries participated.
Uluçay met with his Turkish counterpart Binali Yıldırım, who hosted the meeting, before the opening ceremony in this framework.
Pointing out the importance of TRNC’s participation at such an international meeting in Turkey, Yıldırım emphasized that Turkey will always continue to be a supporter and follower of a just and lasting solution to the Cyprus problem.
The TRNC Speaker of the Assembly Teberrüken Uluçay for his part said that the TRNC has cooperated closely with Turkey on the Cyprus issue.
