Girne Municipality in cooperation with the Dr. Suat Günsel Girne University Dental Hospital, started a 3-day Oral and Dental Screening event with the slogan “Dental decay is not the fate of the people” for children up to 15 years of age. The screening started at the Girne Open Market, Municipality Theatre on the 11th September, where the children were also told how to brush their teeth. Following the screening, Professor of Dentistry Faculty of the Girne University, Dr. Serap Çetiner, distributed educational and informative booklets on family health.
Screening and training will take place in Zeytinlik Village on 12th September and in Ozanköy Square on 13th September from 09:30 to 12:30.
Güngördü: Health education and awareness are important
Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü emphasized the importance of education and awareness in order to raise healthy individuals and emphasized that local government should support and contribute to the activities to be held regarding health. Nidai Güngördü, spoke of the importance of cooperation between institutions, and thanked Dr Serap Çetiner and Dr Ferdiye Küçük, of the Dr. Suat Günsel Girne University Dental Hospital, for their contribution.
