Girne Municipality cleaning branch employees, carried out cleaning work at the beach in the Karaoğlanoğlu Riviera area.
The workers collected about 90 bags of garbage from the area which filled a small truck. 
The Municipality and the local people had already done cleaning work in this area.
Girne Mayor, Nidai Güngördü, stated that garbage was collected under difficult conditions which was between rocks etc. on the shore area at the end of Neşet İkiz Sokak, Karaoğlanoğlu.
Güngördü: Leave communal areas as you like to find them.
Nidai Güngördü, stated that in the Bosphorus Picnic and Girne-Lefkoşa Highway areas continuous cleaning work is done and the people should be more sensitive to the 
emphasis of clearing up their own rubbish.
Güngördü pointed out that those who want to use clean areas should dispose of their own trash in the garbage containers when they leave. He said that “some citizens clean up their garbage every once in a while” and the Municipality had distributed many leaflets to increase sensitivity towards the environment.
They should take their rubbish home and dispose of it. It is lazy and dirty.
