Yıldırım: “I will do my utmost in increasing the recognition of the TRNC in the world”
Binali Yıldırım who held his first visit abroad since he started his new duty as the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly stated that he will do his utmost in order to increase the recognition of the TRNC in the world during his term period.
Yıldırım, who came to the TRNC for a one day visit, met with the Speaker of the TRNC Assembly, Teberrüken Uluçay.
Yıldırım: “The conditions that the two sides will agree on must be established”
Pointing out that the conditions to be agreed by the two sides on the use of the natural resources of the island should be established, the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Binali Yıldırım said that any attempt made by unilateral decisions ignoring the sovereignty rights of the TRNC would not be tolerated and accepted.
Yıldırım and his accompanying parliamentary delegation also met with Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman.
In his speech at the meeting, Erhürman said that at this time events were to the Greek Cypriot Administration’s advantage, yet attempts should continue in this regard to change their stance as soon as possible.
Özersay issued a condolence message to the Italian Foreign Minister
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay sent a message of condolence to the Italian Foreign Minister regarding the dramatic collapse of the highway bridge in Genoa.
Özersay’s message is as follows:
“I have learned with great sorrow that many people have lost their lives in the tragic event of the collapse of Morandi Bridge. On behalf of my government and the Turkish Cypriot People, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, to the Italian state and people and a quick recovery to the injured people.”
