Mr. Mustafa Akıncı, the President of TRNC will be laying the foundation of the “Cyprus Modern Art Museum”, on 9th August, at 9am, within the premises of the Near East University, Lefkoşa.
The establishment of the “Cyprus Modern Art Museum”, is the first laudable step by the Near East University, to not only promote modern art, but also to bring to the limelight the diversity and quality of modern art. This will promote not only the understanding of modern art, but will play a vital role in developing artists of the future.
The 3 storey museum, will cover a total area of 20,000 square metres. It will have 14 halls, of which 4 will be to store the art collections permanently, 2 halls for temporary placement, 2 Photographic exhibition halls, and 3 sculptors halls. It will also have a hall with a capacity for over 1300 people.
The museum will have studios, laboratories, conference halls, etc, to provide better support and cooperation to art lovers.
