It is still very hot in North Cyprus and putting the cooker on to prepare a meal is perhaps very low on the list of things to do, so occasionally we work on the principle – let someone else do the cooking!
Sunday is probably the only day we feel we can relax and unwind and what better than a leisurely drive to Esentepe to enjoy a traditional British Sunday Lunch at one of our favourite eating places, The Balti House.
As usual we were warmly welcomed by Mo who was pretty well rushed off his feet with a good number of diners who probably had the same idea as us. 
We did realise later he had some help from Shani, who has been in the TRNC for 5 months and is a student at GAU studying international relations, so we assumed he was busy helping in the kitchen for a while.
We sat down on the outside terrace, which is very attractive with nice colour coordination and a lovely view of the sea, and proceeded to order our meal – Prawn Cocktail and Samosas for starters and beef and chicken for our main courses, and a nice cold drink to start. I must say the chef makes a brilliant prawn cocktail with just a hint of paprika and Chris enjoyed his samosas as well.
The main course arrived and as usual, as a vegetarian, I passed my meat over to Chris, but there was plenty still on the plate for me to enjoy, including a nice variety of vegetables – carrots, cauliflower, sprouts, and a mixture of peas, green beans and sweetcorn, as well as roast potatoes, mashed potato and a Yorkshire pudding, plenty for me. At 38TL for 2 courses this is excellent value, the food is well cooked, hot, and nicely presented. Well done Mo and your chef.
We moved into the inside area and sat in the comfortable seating and relaxed with a coffee (and a brandy for me), before setting off for home and the inevitable nap. A lovely relaxing day, despite the heat.
