The Near East University is participating in the 7th RoboCup International Competition taking place in Montreal, Canada. The NEU team has developed the robot football team, which is expected to put up a tough fight to the other participating teams.
The NEU went through the initial check up after reaching Montreal, Canada. Later they participated in a friendly practice match against the ROBOFEI team from Brazil. The NEU robot team won the match 3 – 0.
Speaking of the occasion, Ersin Aytaç, the team captain, expressed his hope to reach the last four of the tournament. He said that they had worked hard and would put in extra effort to reach the goal. He said that it is an honour for his team to participate in the tournament for the 7th consecutive year. “We feel proud of representing the TRNC in the international arena”, he said.
