As we had not sampled Sunday Lunch at the new Balti House Restaurant in Esentepe (previously Fine Dining), this week we decided to take an afternoon drive and say hello to Mo Khan and enjoy a little relaxation and a meal.
Mo has made some changes to the restaurant and it looked very smart with the whole of the outside area under cover which made it very pleasant for dining at that time of day. Inside the restaurant there are some very comfortable settees where guests can also relax after they have eaten.
Although we had decided on a Sunday Lunch, I had a look at the menu and was very impressed with the range of dishes, especially a large choice of vegetarian meals. We decided on our starters of prawn cocktail and chicken liver paté and were delighted with the presentation when they arrived. For the main course we ordered beef and roast chicken and again this was very nicely presented with 4 different vegetables, roast potatoes, mashed potato and Yorkshire pudding to accompany the meat. We were both well and truly full when we finished eating. The bill was very reasonable too, definitely good value for money.
Both Mo and his waiter, Ali, were very attentive and anxious to make sure the diners were all happy, although we didn’t have a chance to say hello to Mahmood as he was busy in the kitchen!
The Balti House also has music nights with performances by popular artists and he is pleased to be able to present a Gerry Lee Lewis tribute on Tuesday 3rd July.
