The TRNC Education and Sports Ministry is hosting the 10th Athletics tournament for special (handicapped) children in Lefkoşa. The games started today (3rd May) and were concluded on 4th May, 2018.
The Sports Department had organised the first of such games for handicapped students in 2009. The special students from TRNC and Turkey had participated initially, however, with passage of time the number of participants started increasing. Teams from the UK started participating, and contestants from Azerbaijan started participating from 2013.
Initially there was an age limit of 18 years, for the contesting students, which was later relaxed and now students above the age of 18 can also participate.
