The Environmental Protection Department, under the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, is organising a photography competition and exhibition with the theme “Environment” this year as part of World Environment Day activities on June 5th.

Photographers – Buket Özatay, Mustafa Evirgen and Hasan Bağlar will be evaluating the competition, which will be arranged for the first time in a single category.  In the competition, black/white and/or colour shots are accepted in a single category.

The results of the selection committee will be exhibited at the Lefkoşa Atatürk Cultural Center Exhibition Hall between 5-8 June.

The Environmental Protection Agency, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, will continue to accept work until the end of office hours on Tuesday 8th May 2018 for the Photography Competition and Exhibition on “Environment”.

The photography contest and exhibition is being organised for the first time and is aimed at the effects of the environmental problems of our country, i.e. drought, solid waste, recycling of solid wastes, quarries, climate change, noise, water resources, environmental problems caused by unsightly constructions, air pollution, wastewater, our seas, the environment, agriculture, health, tourism, transportation, urbanism, energy and other issues.  This will not only contribute to the art of photography but will  also draw attention to the problems in the environment.

The contest specification can be downloaded from http://www.cevrekorumadairesi.org or by emailing info@cevrekorumadairesi.org.  Participants who wish to enter the competition can also be provided with information at the discretion of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Participants who wish to exhibit at the “Environment” Photography Competition and Exhibition can participate in the competition free of charge, giving at least three and at most eight works of photography.

As a result of the evaluation of the selection committee, a participation certificate will be given.  At the end of the competition, a 2-night stay for 2 persons will be awarded by the owners of Kaya Artemis Hotel where the works to be awarded with the Special Prize of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment will be determined.

The works chosen to be exhibited will be determined by the selection committee and there will be a first prize of 3000TL (Achievement Prize), a second prize of 2000TL and a third prize of 1000TL.
