By Margaret Sheard …

A nice change to get away from the computer when my sister and I attended the Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services 112 Afternoon Tea Talk at the Black Olive Cafe, Alsancak.

There were around 32 people who came to enjoy an afternoon tea of sandwiches, yummy cakes and tea/coffee and to enjoy the talk which was to follow.

This month the speaker was Keith Lloyd giving an illustrated talk about the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, which was very interesting and entertaining with the addition of Keith’s narrative and anecdotes.   It is a very interesting story from its inception to the present day and I am sure everyone enjoyed it.

There was a raffle with some very nice prizes and, having not been to the Afternoon Tea Talk for some while, I was surprised that Mike still dishes out his crazy salt and pepper pots and these were given to various people there, a nice touch.

It was nice to see some familiar faces and catch up with people I haven’t seen for some time, and I thoroughly enjoyed a nice relaxing afternoon.
