Basın Sen, the Press Workers Trade Union, announced the winning journalists for the 17th Kutlu Adalı Press Awards.
The jury consisted of Press Workers’ Trade Union (Basın – Sen), Turkish Cyprus Journalists Association (Kıbrıs Türk Gazeteciler Birliği ), Turkish Cyprus Sports Journalists’ (Kıbrıs Türk Spor Yazarları), The Kutlu Adalı Trust, represented by İlkay Adalı and İlknur Çakmak. The jury was headed by Serkan Soyalan, the General Secretary of Press Workers’ Trade Union.
Hereunder is the list of the winners:
- Kutlu Adalı Honor Award : İlknur Çakmak on behalf of Hakan Çakmak
- Press Workers’ Trade Union (Basın – Sen) Special Award: Sevgül Uludağ
- Best News Award : Duygu Alan (Dipkarpaz’da Aşk Kazandı) – Havadis Gazetesi
- Best Sports journalist: Eren Şişik (Yedek Kulübesine Dürüm Çağırdı) – Yenidüzen Gazetesi
- Hakan Çakmak Special Award: Kadri Esemen
- Young Journalist Award: Tünay Mertekci
- Press Workers’ Award : Celil Uysal, Tekin Kurt, Mustafa Bozdoğan, Erol Uysal
- Devoted Journalists’ Award : Ayşe Taşseven Denizoğlu, Eralp Adanır, Ali Baturay
- New Press Award : İpek Dermuş (Voice of the Island) – Irenee Zamani (Voice of the Island)
The awards will be distributed in a ceremony to be held on 23rd March at 8 pm, at the meeting hall of Turkish Cyprus Journalists Association (Kıbrıs Türk Gazeteciler Birliği )
