Dr. Hakki Cengiz Eren, the lecturer of music in the Near East University, recently won the first prize for writing three portals for Solo Guitar, in the Miami International GuitART Festival (MIGF).
In a competition where 59 musicians from 23 different countries had participated, his compositions viz Tense and Fluid, Resonant and Homage to Georg Friedrich Haas, won the first prize.
The Three portals by Dr. Hakki Cengiz are expected to be played by renowned Guitarist Celso Cano on 28th February 2018.
Dr. Eren has already won a number of prizes for music composition from various international foundations and organisations related to music.
Presently he is attached to the Near East University.
