By Richard Beale…………………………..

Tatlısu were soundly trounced by Geçitkale in this local “Derby” game, which was played at a noisy and packed Stadium. This was a “home” game for Geçitkale, as they have no ground of their own, so Tatlısu were the visitors on their own ground if that makes sense !.Result : GEÇİTKALE GSK 4 TATLISU SERACILAR SK 0

GEÇİTKALE GSK v TATLISU SERACİLAR SK

Once again Tatlısu took another beating as they were overrun and outplayed by a very impressive Geçitkale team. Time and time again they cut through Tatlısu’s paper thin defence and if it wasn’t for goalkeeper Kurşat making some fine saves, the goal tally could have been much higher. On the opening day of the season Tatlısu were hammered 6-0 by Mesarya and it looks like it will be a 2 horse race between Geçitkale and Mesarya to decide who will gain promotion to League 1,

Around 100 supporters from Geçitkale travelled the short distance to Tatlısu, who disappointingly only had the support of around 50 fans.

Geçitkale dominated the match from the start and Kurşat in the Tatlısu goal was called into action a number of times.

Geçitkale took the lead in the 30th minute, a long ball found Kutluhan on the right, he outstripped Barış to send in a cross that was volleyed past Kurşat by MEHMET ÇAVUS. 1-0

The same player made it 2-0 in the 36th minute, after sustained Geçitkale pressure Tatlısu defence did not challenge for a ball and Mehmet shot past Kurşat. 2-0.

Tatlısu’s only attempt in the first half came from the hardworking Cemal who shot wide when given a half chance. HALF TIME SCORE : 2-0

The same pattern continued in the second half, with Geçitkale dominating the match and it came as no surprise when they increased their lead in the 68th minute following a low shot from the right by MEHMET BURAM, which took a deflection and went into the net. 3-0.

Tatlısu who had already lost Captain Turgay limping off injured, suffered another blow when Goalkeeper Kurşat suffered a groin injury, The goalkeeper bravely carried on, despite being restricted and continued to make a number of crucial saves.

However he was given no chance in the 78th minute, when KUTUHAN KUTLU fastened onto a cross field ball and hammered a first time volley high into the top corner of the net..

FULL TIME SCORE 4-0.

Geçitkale were a well organised team, a number of their players were tall, strong and powerful. They have a good team spirit and are clearly enjoying their football. They have a number of fine players that caught the eye, Mehmet Cavus, Birkan, Kutluhan and Ali Elmas to name a few,

For Tatlısu the agony continues, they are very low on confidence and their body language is not good. They are not playing as a team and it has been a very disappointing start to the season.

Individual players Turgay, Barış and Kurşat did their best but lacked support. I thought striker CEMAL was Tatlısu’s best player, given scant service he chased everything upfront and deserved a goal for his hard work.
