On 30th January, Elementary, Primary, Junior and High School students completed their first exams of the year 2017-2018 and will now take a half-term vacation and start lessons again on 16th February.

According to the information given by the Ministry of Education and Culture,  there are 113 primary schools with 20,000 students, 3,549 in 11 special schools, a total of 23,549 students being educated.

There are 32 General Directorate of Higher Education facilities with 20,312 students, 12 schools are affiliated to Vocational Technical Education Office and 8 private schools, also 3,416 Junior and High School students, giving a total of 23,728 students who are continuing education.

The total number of Primary, Secondary and High School students in the TRNC is  47,277. A total of 5,298 teachers are employed in the country as a whole and 1,196 in private schools.

The summer vacation will start in the first week in June and the new academic year 2018-2019 will commence on 17th September 2018.

College Entrance Examination (KGS) will be held on 9th June and Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School (BEAL) and 20 July Science High School Placement Examinations will take place on 23rd  June.

Students completing the 8th grade will be admitted to the Vocational High School programs between 21st and 25th June.
