In turning another page of the CyprusScene journey of discovery for going on for 6 years, I called by at Bollywoods Restaurant, Ozankoy on Thursday 25th January in time to see a delighted Maureen Hollely cutting her birthday cake with great applause from her husband Eddie and their friends. Sorry guys I did not take all of your names.
Another lesson learned!
Providing entertainment was fabulous, Andy Reay who had given one of the Bollywoods staff, Naeem Raja 
a chance to take to the floor and sing a song. Great effort mate.
Then on with even greater entertainment by Andy who soon had everybody on the floor strutting their stuff including me at the insistence from the lovely Wendy Smith ( the Lady in Red,). Ohhh me aching bones!
Wow that took me back to the days when I used to go to the Soho clubs like the Pink Flamingo, Marquee and the Scene as a mod and one night I was selected by Patrick Kerr to take part in a Ready Steady Go show as an audience dancer.
When my pal Micky Raymond and I arrived in the studio in our slick suits and paisley ties and shirts etc, I was gobsmacked to find it was my heart throb Dusty Springfield who was on the show.
In those days I had met my American cousin whose dad was a GI and had been serving around the world including Germany where my cousin Don went to a college and he had a royal blue bomber jacket with a large sheepskin “K” which he gave me. I started wearing this in Soho with white socks cropped hair and suddenly others seemed to be doing the same so who was the follower of fashion?
Enough of the reminiscing and on with the show, so let’s look at a few picture of Maureen’s great Birthday Bash at Bollywoods. Happy Birthday again Maureen and do enjoy it again with these pictures.
