We have received the following appeal from Sue Steel, Vice Chair of the EFRAR 2018 Committee and would like to share it in the hope that there may be some of our readers who would like to help with sponsorship and/or support for this major annual event, which raises funds for Tulips (Help Those with Cancer).
The Committee and its supporters do so much during the year with events which lead up to the Esentepe Fun Run and Ramble but any help is always very much appreciated to help them to continue their work for cancer sufferers.

We are now starting to organise next year’s Fun Run which is being held on Sunday 15th April and our Chair Person, Mary Watson and her committee, once again, aim to make it the biggest charity event of the year in support of Tulips – Help Those with Cancer.
Last year we raised an amazing 144,654TL and the EFRAR Committee is really proud of this achievement. With your support we aim to do even better during 2018 with more participants, more stalls and more events and we are very grateful for your continued support.
The Fun Run will once again be held at the new Carrington Site above the original Sea Magic site and I’m pleased to announce that The Carrington Group will, as usual, be our main sponsors.
We know there is an ever increasing need for the services which Tulips – Help those with Cancer provide as the level of cancer on the island increases. Tulips is currently seeing about ten new cases per week and it has been decided that this year’s advertising campaign will be designed to emphasise health and getting fitter and with your help we can continue to make a difference.
As some of you will know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2017 but I am one of the fortunate ones. I am currently in complete remission as there is no “cure” when you have cancer and I am now back in the TRNC and ready to take on the challenges of raising money for other cancer sufferers.
I know 2017 has not been a good year, financially, for businesses or individuals, but cancer does not care….it comes calling when you least expect it and it can affect you or someone in your family or a close friend and it changes lives. You can change lives too but in a good way by pledging sponsorship for the Fun Run in 2018.
