The TRNC Creditwest Spring 2017 Cricket League started with 8 teams and they were divided into 2 pools A and B to contest the right to become league champions.
The matches started with Pool A which included the Gentleman of Girne, Near East University, Rising Stars of Lefkosa, and the Eastern Mediterranean University Cricket Club playing qualifying matches against each other.
In pool B, the A1 Cyprus Cricket Club, Star Cricket Club of Lefkosa, Middle East Technical University and Ozankoy Cricket Club also played hard to qualify,
After the 1st round in Pool A the Gentleman of Girne qualified for the semi final with 90 points and from Pool B the A1 Cyprus Cricket Club also qualified for the semi finals with 90 points.
Last weekend two quarter finals were played between NEU vs Rising Stars of Lefkosa and NEU won and qualified for semi final match with the A1 Cyprus Cricket Club team and the Ozanköy Cricket Club beat EMU and qualified for semi final match with Gentleman of Girne this coming weekend at the Bellapais Sports Ground.
Next Sunday 10th December the NEU play the A1 Cricket Club in the first semi final at 09:00 am and the second semi final will start at 13:00 pm when the Gentleman of Girne play the Ozanköy Cricket Club at the Bellapais Sports Ground.
