Reading the cyprusscene article by Ahmet Abdulaziz “Traffic And Sense” click here I thought about the bad drivers habits in North Cyprus of driving with headlights on when not necessary, talking on mobile phones and parking vehicles without due regard to other road users and pedestrians.

The following day I visited a friend in Karaoĝlanoĝlu and parked my car outside his property in a position where it would not cause an obstruction to other drivers.

This property is in a narrow lane leading past the back of a school and turns to the right and goes alongside the school with room to park alongside the school which also has a car park.

That all sounds nice until parents or carers come to collect children driving from two different directions causing a log jam with some just abandoning their cars despite the fact that no one could move.

Is this just a selfish act or do some people have no spacial awareness and sense?

  1. It’s a case of sod you jack I’m okay! and God forbid if I have to walk further than necessary! I keep promising myself I am going to have a T shirt made with “You couldn’t make it up!” printed on the front!
    Keep up the good work.
