We have received the October newsletter of the Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan and are pleased to share some of the highlights of the month. 

The events included :

  • Visit by Director General on 25th October, with a Gala Dinner.
  • DDG and AG visit on 7th October
  • Summer BBQ at Blakes Lounge Bar and Bistro in aid of Polio Awareness 24th October.
  • On-going project “Collect Caps” for wheelchairs.
  • Cancer Awareness Month 28th October
  • Fellowship Brunch with the Lions Ladies 1st October
  • Fundraising music night in Nicosia 6th October
  • Golf Tournament in aid of Yeşilyurt Special Needs School 14th and 15th October

The Club is an English speaking and Multicultural Club in Kyrenia, Cyprus which received its Charter on January 3rd 2017 and currently has 28 active members (14 men & 14 women) as of September 2017.

They meet on every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 2:30pm at Merit Park Hotel in Karaoglanoglu, west of Kyrenia.

The Club extends a warm welcome to men and women of all ages and all nationalities resident in Cyprus. Former Rotarians and Rotaractors and interested members of the community with some spare time and energy are all invited to make contact to find out more about joining the Club.

Members enjoy fun and fellowship in social activities, as well as joining in the teamwork of varied projects and put their life skills to good use and help the Club make a difference locally and worldwide.

Rotary Polio Fund

24th October was World Polio Day. We organised a fundraising Summer BBQ event in aid of Rotary Polio Fund and raised a total amount of 2.520TL!

It was a great event organised by Rtn Gloria with many visiting Rotarians and Lions ladies. Thanks to all who joined and contributed to this meaningful event. Also thanks to Blake’s Lounge Bar & Bistro for hosting our fundraising event.  Check out some great photos taken by our photographer Rtn Brian Joyce.

Thanks also to Peter Dawson for his great music and contribution! His performance was outstanding and he has always been our greatest supporter and donator.

Golf Tournament in aid of Yesilyurt Special Needs School

14-15th October – We organised a Golf Tournament at CMC Golf Club, in Lefke in aid of Yesilyurt Special Needs School. It was a great event and we raised 13,000TL. Thanks to our President Gultac and members Rtn Gloria, Rtn Behiye, Rtn Hakkı, Rtn Yvonne, Rtn Deren, Rtn Mutlu, Rtn Grace, Rtn Stuart, Rtn Irene, Rtn Anja for taking part in organising this event and for their effort in making this tournament happen.

A big thank you to Rtn Malcolm Lees, who is also a CMC Golf Club member. He was the head of this project and worked extremely hard to organise this event with the assistance of our Fundraising Committee and voluntary club members. Special Students and Their Music Performance

Thanks to these beloved students and their teachers Mr. Azim and Mr. Tunahan for this amazing performance.

Another thank you to Prof Dr Aysegul Ataman and Esma Ineci for their guidance throughout this journey.

Fellowship with Lions Ladies. 

President Gultac, Rtn Mutlu and Rtn Gloria attended a Fellowship Brunch with Baskent Lions Club on 1st of October.

Another Fellowship Lunch was organised with Baskent Lions Club on 13th October in Nicosia. President Gultac, Rtn Behiye and Rtn Munevver also attended the Fellowship lunch on behalf of our Club and strengthened our relationships with Lions Ladies.
