Saturdays clash of 2nd place Esentepe and 3rd place Gönyeli must be League 1 “Match Of The Day”. Esentepe and Gönyeli both are on 8 points and with the same goal difference, Esentepe being a “E” before “G” merits them ahead of Gönyeli.
Saturday 21 October, kick off 2-30pm, K-Pet League 1. Esentepe Erdal Barut Stadium.
ESENTEPE KKSK v GÖNYELI SK.
Gönyeli are one of the favourites to gain promotion this season, they always are, as they are a big Club and expectations from their supporters are always high. They have brought some new players in this summer, one of them is Ex Esentepe striker Tacettin Köse, who played in all of last seasons matches (20), scoring 11 goals and was a “fans favourite’ signing on loan from L. Gençler Birliği. He will be itching to score against his old Club, as he has only scored 1 goal, this season and that from the penalty spot.. Tacettin scored for Esentepe in the corresponding fixture last season exciting 3-3 draw.
Also a new face this season is Coach Emre Perçinci who took over in the summer from Karşiyaka.

Gönyeli have only conceded 1 goal this season, no doubt thanks to Goalkeeper Kemal Bağbal, who is one of the best goalies around, who always seems to play well against Esentepe.
Esentepe will probably make a couple of changes to there line up despite winning 1-0 away last week against Çanakkale. I think the Coach will recall experience players Hüseyin and Ahmet after leaving them out last week.

High flying Gönyeli brought a large away support with them, but it was Esentepe (themselves chasing a play off place) who were the better team.
Gönyeli took the lead in the 61 minute with a gift of a goal presented them by Goalkeeper Ali. The Esentepe keeper is normally a great stop shopper, but when he leaves his goal area he sometimes takes leave of his senses. Ali came chasing out of his area to fly kick away a clearance, only succeeding in kicking the ball to Hüseyin Küsbeci who looked seeing an unguarded net and lobbed the ball home. It looked like Gönyeli will take all 3 points back with them but Esentepe deservedly equalised in the 94th minute. A piece of magic by substitute Umar who put over a perfect cross to BAŞAK lurking at the far post to head past Kemal. Gönyeli would be promoted as Champions with Esentepe finishing in 3rd place. But they would lose out in the promotion play offs.
I think Saturdays game will be close and Esentepe will put their poor home record against Gönyeli behind them and will win 2-1.

NB The new Stadium seats have still not arrived, so there is no seating bring a CUSHION !.
