By Margaret Sheard …..

We have been given information by Laurence Floyd of two spectacular events which are being planned for 2018 and for those people planning a holiday in North Cyprus or the regular “swallows”, you might want to plan your visits around these dates in order not to miss some fabulous entertainment, which will be in aid of the Civil Emergency Service Volunteers (CESV).

Firstly, on Wednesday 20th June at the Colony Garden in Girne there will be “Stayin’ Alive”, a top UK based Bee Gees show.  There will be more detailed information to follow later about this event.

Many people will remember the fabulous Beatlemania Show at the Girne Amphitheatre in September.  Well, wait for it…. on Saturday 15th September 2018, there is to be The King Is Back 2018 World Tour, an international Las Vegas style Elvis show, with 10 musicians and vocalists on stage, plus the incomparable Ben Portsmouth as Elvis…you really will feel the King is back to entertain us…

In 2012 Ben Portsmouth won the Elvis Presley Enterprises ‘Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest’ which took place in Memphis, USA, making him the only artist from outside the USA to ever win this prestigious title.

Of course there will always only be one Elvis, but we understand Ben is the closest you will see in terms of Elvis looks, singing voice and on stage charisma.

This is going to be a fantastic show and judging by the number of people who attended the Beatlemania event, the Amphitheatre will almost certainly be full to capacity.  Again, more information will be published later when the arrangements are more advanced.

  1. Hi – does anybody know if tickets are available for the Elvis show at the ampitheatre yet? Thanks

    1. Sorry but this event has been cancelled as the Belediyesi are unable to confirm the booking for September.
The cancellation has been shown in our weekly events calendar for the last few weeks. Very disappointing to say the least.
