We have received the following words of appreciation from Mr John Aziz Kent, the  Honorary President of The Hoteliers Association about the article we published as under.

Turkish Cypriot NGOs meet Secretary of State for Transport Chris Grayling MP

“Dear Chris and Margaret,

You two are doing more for the North of Cyprus than most of our officials but it looks as if you have managed via your very successful Cyprusscene.com website to wake up some NGO‘s in the UK and if they follow up and keep pressurizing their MP‘s we might get somewhere especially with the Air Transport issues and maybe with all the other ongoing unreasonable Embargoes.

We in the Tourism industry would like to thank everyone that is helping to make our Air Transport service for Tourism easier to reach this wonderful part of the island of Cyprus which years ago I named as a Corner of Earth Touched by Heaven and now Chris and Margaret are working to make it even better and we thank them for everything they are doing to help Northern Cyprus.

John Aziz Kent
Honorary President Of The Hoteliers Association”

  1. Hi I couldn’t agree more with the comments expressed by John and my friends at cyprusscene

  2. I would like to join Mr John Aziz Kent, in thanking Chris Elliot and Margaret Sheard in their tirelesss efforts on trying to reverse the decision of the British Government about flights into and out of Northern Cyprus and trying to improve many other situations in Northern Cyprus. The public do not realise these two people are working their socks off for no financial reward at all! It is all voluntary. And I take my hat off to them. Thank you very much, Chris and Margaret.

  3. I’m sorry but an Island full of rubbish, high rise apartments everywhere with a road system that isn’t capable of carrying donkeys is not a corner of earth touched by heaven, it used to be but no more.

    1. Hi Garry,

Sorry Garry you seem to be a bit miffed by John Aziz Kent’s words and as your IP address indicates you are perhaps living here in Northern Cyprus perhaps you like it a bit more than you care to imply.

Saying roads are not capable of carrying donkeys is perhaps an over statement as we have great two lane highways as well as a great, mostly empty highway out towards the Karpaz so if you would like to round up a squadron of donkeys as you say, maybe the roads would not be adequate. 🙂 🙂

  4. Hey Chris could you drive a big government Mercedes if so you need a suit with big pockets ( only joking ) keep up the good work and how nice to have some real appreciation. Fondest Wishes to you both Wendy and Peter.

    1. Thank you Peter for your kind words and i will have my chauffeur stop for you next time I see you.
