Hi,
What an amazing start to our Pink October month. A walk had been organised by the Association (Kanser Hastalarina Yardım Derneği) to launch the activities for Pink October to raise awareness for Breast Cancer.
Over two hundred walkers turned out to walk the 2.8km route around the castle walls, harbour, breakwater and up to the Dome Hotel and back.
Girne was awash with Pink and even the Girne Municipality Mayor Nidai Güngördü and Deputy Hasan Taçoy took part. The sponsors for this event were Near East University who sponsored our Pink T-shirts and provided an ambulance for the event in case of an emergency. Thanks to them and also to the Police department and Girne Municipality workers for helping on the day.
We would also like to thank the Near East students and professors who attended and also the Lord’s Palace staff who joined us and, of course, all our supporters who turned out in their pink!
We raised 3,420.75 TL, which is a fantastic amount to start off our Pink October.
